Aster Advisory is looking for someone with around two to three years’ experience to join our Probity team. This role suits someone who is ready to take a more active role on public sector projects and keep building their career in a supportive, collaborative firm.

Aster was established in July 2024 and built on two decades of experience, to provide a truly independent, specialist boutique firm with a focus on our public sector clients. With around 40 professionals, we’re not a large firm, and deliberately so. We're growing, but not at the expense of our people or the quality of our work.

You’ll support clients to run fair, transparent and accountable procurement processes, working closely with our senior probity specialists on probity advisory and audit engagements. You’ll gain in-depth insight into how significant public sector projects are planned and procured, and you’ll work directly with project teams and evaluation panels. It’s work that matters: because defensible processes give suppliers and the community confidence that public projects are awarded on merit.

Day to day, that includes:

- Helping prepare probity plans, probity advice and probity reports
- Reviewing procurement documentation, such as evaluation plans and tender documents, for probity considerations




- Reviewing conflict of interest declarations and registers, and helping prepare advice on managing identified conflicts
- Attending project meetings, market briefings and evaluation meetings in a probity capacity
- Contributing to probity audits, including testing and drafting findings and reports
- Supporting and guiding our graduate analysts as the team grows

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Around two to three years’ experience in probity, procurement, contract management, audit, legal, governance or a related role
- A good understanding of integrity principles in public sector decision-making
- Clear, careful written communication and an eye for detail
- Good judgement and discretion, and comfort raising matters constructively with stakeholders
- The ability to organise your work across multiple projects at once
- Ideally, some familiarity with Victorian procurement frameworks, such as Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) policies, the Ministerial Directions and Instructions for Public Construction Procurement or the Local Government Act 2020
