About the role

62Thirty Cafe & Bar in Bunbury is looking for a skilled barista to join its team on a full-time basis. You will prepare and serve high quality espresso coffee and other beverages to customers in a busy cafe and bar environment. You will work alongside the wider team to keep service running smoothly and ensure every customer has a great experience. This role suits someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys working in a fast paced, customer focused setting.

Barista

Employment Responsibilities

- Prepare, serve and sell a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, long black, flat white, latte, cappuccino and other espresso-based drinks.
- Select, grind and measure coffee beans, adjust coffee grinders and operate espresso machines to ensure consistent beverage quality.
- Steam and texture milk and prepare alternative milk beverages according to customer preferences.
- Take customer orders, provide information about menu items and make recommendations on available beverages and light snacks.
- Deliver friendly, efficient and professional customer service in a busy cafe environment.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process cash and electronic payments,



and accurately handle customer transactions.
- Promote cafe products and services and assist with sales of beverages and light snacks.
- Clean and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, utensils, benches and other coffee-making equipment.
- Wash cups, glassware and utensils and maintain clean and hygienic service areas.
- Replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids and other beverage supplies, and monitor stock levels.
- Restock refrigerators, shelves and drink dispensers as required.
- Follow food safety, workplace health and safety, and hygiene procedures.
- Assist with general cafe duties to support smooth daily operations

Skills, experience and qualifications

- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a Barista in a high-volume café environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare a range of espresso-based beverages and operate commercial coffee machines.
- Knowledge of coffee grinding, espresso extraction, milk texturing and beverage presentation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a POS system and handle payments accurately.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods and manage multiple orders.
- A reliable, punctual and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety practices.
- Availability to work the rostered shifts, including weekends or public holidays if required by the business.
