Modern equipment, quality camp facilities, for an underground gold mine in the Goldfields.
- 8:6 - 7:7 or 2:2 rosters, FIFO or DIDO
- Small crew with a great team culture
- Pathway to perm with a major UG contractor
The Company & Why Join
Join a globally recognised underground mining contractor with an excellent industry reputation and a real commitment to training and developing its people. This role puts you on a well-established underground gold operation in the WA Goldfields, close to Kalgoorlie.
You'll work in a small, close-knit crew of around 50 on site and get hands-on with a brand-new Sandvik fleet; none of the gear on site is second-hand. You start as a contractor, but you'll be treated as a permanent team member from day one, and there's a clear pathway onto the contractor's own books within around 6 months.
About the Role
You'll split your time between the workshop and the field, with a heavier focus on the workshop. The work covers:
- PM work and scheduled maintenance
- Component change-outs and general repairs
- Servicing on a modern underground fleet
- Fault finding, diagnostics and problem solving
- Field breakdowns
- Drill servicing and maintenance
The fleet you'll work on:
- Sandvik DD422iDC development drills
- Sandvik DL432i production drill
- Sandvik LH621i loaders
- Sandvik TH663i trucks
- Ancillary gear: Normet LC605, Volvo L120H loaders and a Komatsu grader
Why This Role
- Choice of rosters: 8:6 / 7:7 or 2:2, all on 12-hour day and night shifts
- FIFO or DIDO. DIDO suits anyone based in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie
- $80 to $95ph + Super as a casual, depending on your underground maintenance experience
- A clear pathway to a permanent role with leave entitlements
- Your own permanent room at a modern camp with an ensuite, air con and streaming TV. No back-to-backing, and you can leave your gear in the room over your break
- Short commute: the airstrip is in Kambalda, site is about 25 minutes from camp, and Woolworths is close by
- A smaller site means plenty of time for training and skill progression, with experienced mentors on hand
- Great team culture, including pizza lunches shouted by the supervisors every few swings
- Gold mining, a reliable and secure commodity
