About the Role
Join a high-performing team that plays a vital role in keeping all company vehicles safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. The Always on Hire team is focused on vehicle maintenance, fault diagnosis, and mechanical repairs, ensuring all vehicles meet safety standards and remain in optimal working condition. From troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing preventative maintenance to carrying out repairs and vehicle inspections, the team plays an essential role in minimising downtime, maximising vehicle availability, and supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the business.

Responsibilities:

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on light vehicles (LV) in accordance with manufacturer specifications, service schedules, and workplace safety requirements.
- Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain light vehicles, including routine servicing, brake inspections and repairs, tyre replacement, engine inspections, and the identification of mechanical and electrical faults.




- Ensure all repairs are completed to the required safety and quality standards.
- Accurately complete and submit electronic service sheets, maintenance records, inspection reports, and details of repairs undertaken in a timely manner. Record any defects identified, parts replaced, and additional maintenance required.
- Report vehicle defects, repair requirements, safety concerns, and completed maintenance outcomes to Branch Managers.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, use tools and equipment correctly, maintain a clean work area, and ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy before returning them to service. To be successful in the role, you will:
- Be a Qualified Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Be willing and able to travel in a company vehicle between the Gold Coast and Hervey Bay, including Gympie and surrounding areas, to perform vehicle servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across multiple branch locations as required.
- Be able to safely perform manual tasks associated with field mechanic work, including lifting tools, handling equipment, and carrying out vehicle repairs.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team.
