The Company Aquila Resources Pty Ltd is a Perth based company that is now in an exciting phase of growth and opportunity. With an evolving portfolio of ongoing and upcoming Iron projects, we are seeking a driven Financial Accountant to assist our Finance team as a contractor, offering full time hours and working in our CBD office on St Georges Terrace. Key duties
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and Group financial statements (AUD & RMB), including management reports and variance analysis.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, foreign exchange adjustments, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Process and review AP invoices, verify supporting documentation, ensure accurate GL coding and cost allocation, and coordinate timely supplier payments.
- Prepare and lodge BAS/GST, payroll tax, and FBT returns, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation requirements.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure records, including exploration and evaluation expenditure.
- Manage intercompany transactions, loan balances, reconciliations, and related accounting adjustments across Group entities.
- Prepare monthly cash flow, treasury,



and investment reports; monitor term deposit maturities, cash balances, and funding requirements.
- Coordinate payment processing, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely bank reconciliations and accurate financial records.
- Assist with internal and external audits, annual budgets, forecasts, and year-end financial reporting.
- Review project and tenement expenditure, including cost allocation, capitalisation, and supporting reconciliations.
- Assist with insurance renewals, quarterly ABS surveys, and other statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments, external auditors, tax advisers, banks, and Group finance teams to resolve accounting and reporting matters. Essential Criteria
- Bachelor of Accounting, Business or similar
- 3+ years accounting experience
- Strong cost analysis knowledge
- Advanced excel skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Must have ABN and Unrestricted work rights in Australia
