About The Role
Peoplebank is seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, test and document high-quality software solutions. This is a mid-to-senior-level opportunity for a developer with at least five years of commercial full stack development experience; it is not an entry-level position. You will work closely with Business Analysts, subject matter experts and other delivery team members to understand requirements and translate them into reliable, well-engineered applications. Alongside hands-on development, you will contribute to solution design, delivery planning, risk management and continuous improvement. You will be expected to communicate clearly, manage your workload and provide visibility of progress, issues and delivery risks. Qualifications Candidates should bring at least five years of commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer and a strong foundation in Java-based application development. Relevant technologies may include Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, jQuery, Bootstrap, Python,
R and React. Experience across every technology listed is not required; the core requirement is proven full stack development capability and the ability to learn and work with the tools relevant to the program. Additional experience that may be valuable includes SQL, DB2, Azure Databricks, Unix scripting, software configuration management, continuous build and integration tools, and automation platforms such as SVN, Bamboo and Crucible. Familiarity with Jira, Agile delivery, and testing tools such as Cypress or equivalent is also advantageous. Experience with ETL solutions, including SSIS or Azure Data Factory, and knowledge of EBX and related technologies and interfaces, such as APIs, SOAP, CXF and JSON, will be useful. Strong communication, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills are important. Responsibilities In this role, you will:
• Work with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to clarify, define and document business requirements.
• Design, code and document complex programs and scripts in line with agreed specifications, development standards and tools.
• Deliver maintainable,
well-engineered solutions and contribute technical expertise during requirements analysis and solution design.
• Identify, assess and manage risks that could affect development work or the delivery of system releases.
• Estimate the effort and duration of development tasks, monitor your progress and improve the accuracy of future estimates.
• Report regularly on task progress, anomalies, risks and issues, escalating matters that may affect delivery.
• Participate in Agile team practices and contribute to improving solution processes and delivery quality across the organisation.
• Use relevant development, testing, data and configuration tools to support reliable implementation and release outcomes. Perks This opportunity offers long-term program work, an Adelaide CBD location and a hybrid working arrangement. You will collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary team and contribute to an interesting project with meaningful outcomes. The role also provides scope to apply your technical expertise, work across a varied technology environment and take part in Agile delivery and ongoing improvement. Applicants can contact Peoplebank to discuss the opportunity confidentially or apply for consideration.
