About the role
Colchester is a global fixed income specialist. We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to help grow inflows into our Australian and Recent Zealand wholesale funds. You’ll work closely with the Head of Distribution, AU/NZ, building relationships with financial planners, dealer groups, platforms and HNW groups, and helping to convert opportunities into assets. This is a hands-on role with real client contact. You’ll own relationships with an allocated panel of intermediaries and learn the firm’s investment philosophy in depth, so you can represent Colchester credibly. What you’ll do
• Develop and maintain relationships with your panel of dealer groups, financial planners and platforms
• Support the 90-day sales plan to identify, target and convert opportunities
• Set up and take part in sales meetings and presentations, sometimes with portfolio managers
• Gather market feedback and competitor insight to sharpen our sales focus
• Help organise roadshows, events and quarterly webinars, and keep marketing collateral up to date
• Follow up promptly and professionally after meetings and events
• Prepare monthly client reporting and factsheets,



and help respond to client queries and due diligence questionnaires What you’ll bring
• Proven experience in asset management, with some knowledge of investment markets
• Some experience working with the intermediary market, including dealer groups, financial planners and platforms
• Confidence in cold calling and setting up sales meetings
• A collaborative approach, and comfort working with colleagues across regions and cultures
• Emotional intelligence, and experience of influencing and challenging constructively
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn complex investment concepts It would help if you also have
• Client-facing experience
• Knowledge of fixed income markets
