The Site Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating safe, disciplined and productive operations at Malcolm Terminal, including front end loader and reach stacker activities, heavy and light vehicle traffic, iron ore stockpiling and train loading, and containerised freight staging. The role acts as the frontline safety and operational leader on shift, ensuring compliance with the site Traffic Management Plan (TMP), Site Emergency Response Plan (SERP), rail interface rules and all applicable Work Health and Safety legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate secure, disciplined and productive operations at Malcolm Terminal
- Supervise front end loader and reach stacker activities
- Manage heavy and light vehicle traffic
- Oversee iron ore stockpiling and train loading
- Manage containerised freight staging
- Ensure compliance with the site Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and Site Emergency Response Plan (SERP)
- Ensure compliance with rail interface rules and Work Health and Safety legislation
- Fulfil statutory supervision obligations under the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 (WA) within DEMIRS-regulated iron ore stockpile and loading areas
- Ensure safe interaction between mobile plant, heavy vehicles and rail infrastructure
- Support reliable throughput of iron ore and containerised freight

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
Demonstrated supervisory experience in a bulk materials handling, terminal, haulage or logistics environment
Experience in iron ore or bulk commodity terminal operations
Strong understanding of mobile plant (loaders/reach stackers), traffic management and rail interface safety
Frontline management or leadership qualifications
Effective decision-making and problem-solving under operational pressure
Experience working within a WHS (Mines) regulatory framework
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
Statutory Supervisor (Schedule 26) training under the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 (BSBWHS411 and BSBWHS414)
Current Australian Driver's Licence
DESIRABLE
Certificate III or IV in Mining, Logistics or related field
Ability to satisfy site fitness for work, medical, drug and alcohol requirements
Frontline Management qualification
Ability to work to the Malcolm Terminal roster
First Aid Certificate
