About Us

Anything Environmental is a locally owned and operated business providing recycling and resource recovery services across Mackay and the Whitsundays.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our busy Paget depot.

This is a leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in operations, logistics, transport, warehousing, manufacturing, equipment hire or a similar operational environment.

Previous recycling industry experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who knows how to manage people, take ownership of an operation and deliver results.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for the productive, safe and productive operation of the Mackay depot.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Operations Management

- Oversee daily depot operations, workflow and productivity.

- Coordinate equipment, materials, transport and logistics.

- Ensure operational procedures and company standards are consistently maintained.

- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workplace.

Staff Leadership & Management

- Lead, supervise and support both weekday and weekend teams.

- Manage staff rosters, attendance and labour requirements.

- Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable.

- Train,



develop and motivate team members.

- Address performance and workplace issues promptly and professionally.

- Build a positive, productive and accountable workplace culture.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are followed.

- Conduct regular safety inspections, pre-starts and toolbox meetings.

- Maintain compliance with company policies and operational requirements.

- Identify risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Administration & Reporting

- Maintain accurate operational records and reporting.

- Oversee cash handling procedures and daily reconciliations.

- Ensure accurate recording of stock movements, counts and logistics information.

- Monitor timesheets, rosters and operational documentation.

- Provide regular operational updates to the Directors.

The position involves a practical level of administration, but the primary focus is on managing people and running a successful operation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced manager who is confident making decisions, managing staff and taking responsibility for operational outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

- Proven experience managing staff in an operational environment.





- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Site Manager or similar.

- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

- Experience managing rosters, productivity and staff performance.

- A sound understanding of workplace health and safety.

- Good computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example.

- A current driver’s licence.

Experience with forklifts, logistics, transport or industrial operations would be advantageous.

Working Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, primarily Monday to Friday.

Occasional Saturday work will be required to oversee weekend operations and support the weekend team.
