Mountain View Café is looking for an experienced Chef or Cook to join our established kitchen team.
This is initially a casual position with 25+ hours available each week.
Formal chef qualifications are welcome but are not essential. We are equally interested in experienced cooks who have spent a solid amount of time working in professional kitchens and are confident operating in a busy, high-volume setting.

About the role
Mountain View Café is a popular, high-volume daytime venue located at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny.
Our kitchen operates at a fast pace, particularly during busy weekend and holiday services, but it is well organised and professionally managed. We work hard and maintain high standards without creating an unnecessarily stressful or negative workplace.
The position will involve a combination of weekday and weekend shifts.
About you
You will ideally:
- Have substantial experience in a professional café, restaurant or commercial kitchen
- Be comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment
- Produce consistent, well-presented food
- Work cleanly, efficiently and calmly
- Communicate well and contribute positively to the team
- Be reliable, punctual and professionally presented
- Be able to work across different sections of the kitchen
- Have good availability across weekdays and weekends
Location and transport
We are located on the coast side of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, within practical commuting distance of many parts of the southern and central Sunshine Coast.
Applicants must:
- Currently reside on the Sunshine Coast or within practical commuting distance of Maleny
- Have reliable personal transport
- Already have unrestricted legal working rights in Australia
This is not a live-in position, and unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship.
