QIX Consulting is partnering with a highly regarded and established accounting firm located on Melbourne's CBD fringe to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing Business Services and Taxation team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished public practice accountant who enjoys working with a diverse client base, building strong relationships and providing valuable accounting and taxation advice.

You'll join a cooperative and high-performing team, working closely with experienced Managers and Partners while continuing to develop your technical expertise and advisory capabilities.

The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you'll play an important role in managing client engagements, delivering quality accounting and taxation services, and supporting the broader team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.

- Managing a diverse portfolio of business services and taxation clients.

- Preparing and reviewing BAS, IAS and other statutory compliance obligations.

- Providing tax planning, business advisory and compliance support to clients.

- Identifying opportunities to assist clients with business performance, tax efficiencies and financial outcomes.

- Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants and providing technical guidance and mentoring.

- Liaising directly with clients, the ATO and other external stakeholders.

- Supporting Managers and Partners with complex accounting and taxation matters.

- Ensuring client deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.

- Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

About You





We're looking for a technically capable and commercially minded Senior Accountant who enjoys working with clients and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.

To be considered, you'll bring:

- Solid Public Practice Accounting experience essential

- Demonstrated experience in Business Services and Taxation at Senior Accountant level.

- A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.

- CA or CPA qualifications, or substantial progress towards completion, highly regarded.

- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.

- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity structures.

- Confidence managing client relationships and working autonomously.

- The ability to review work and support the development of junior accountants.

- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.

- Proficiency in accounting sof

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
