About the role

Smiles on Flinders is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at our Nollamara, WA practice. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high standards of patient experience, and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures and treatments

- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing dental instruments according to infection control protocols

- Processing dental radiographs

- Recording patient medical and treatment histories accurately and updating patient records

- Providing chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontic and implant treatments

- Managing patient flow and scheduling appointments to optimize practice efficiency

- Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions

- Maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment that meets all health and safety standards

- Assisting with administrative duties, including patient communication.

- Supporting inventory management and ordering dental supplies as needed

What we're looking for

- Certificate III or IV Dental Assistant qualification or relevant training program

- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and health and safety regulations in dental settings

- Excellent clinical and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with patients and team members





- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate patient records

- A compassionate approach to patient care and a genuine interest in oral health

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support colleagues professionally

- Previous experience in a dental practice is highly desirable

- Computer literacy and familiarity with dental practice management software is advantageous
