The Opportunity

As our Practice Manager, you will be a key member of our leadership team, working collaboratively with the directors to oversee daily operations, develop our people and drive the ongoing commercial and operational success of the practice.

We are looking for someone who understands both the clinical and business sides of general practice and can confidently balance exceptional patient care with sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Provide effective leadership, mentoring and support to our reception, nursing and administrative teams.

Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture built on respect, accountability and teamwork.

Oversee the efficient day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring exceptional patient service and operational performance.

Work closely with the directors to develop and implement business growth strategies, operational improvements and expansion initiatives.

Identify opportunities to improve practice profitability, revenue performance, patient engagement and operational efficiency.

Monitor financial performance, budgets, operational expenditure and key performance indicators.

Analyse business performance and provide recommendations to support sustainable practice growth.

Oversee the effective utilisation of Best Practice clinical and practice management software, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate reporting and optimal system functionality.

Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, staff development, performance management and workforce planning.

Manage staffing requirements, rosters and operational workflows to support the needs of the practice.

Maintain practice policies, procedures, accreditation standards and relevant healthcare compliance requirements.

Contribute to strategic planning, business development and the operational preparation for our future practice expansion.

About You

We are seeking a confident, experienced and approachable leader who understands that successful practice management requires a combination of strong people leadership, operational expertise and commercial awareness.

To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:

Proven experience as a Practice Manager within general practice.

Experience using Best Practice software, with a strong understanding of its clinical and practice management functions, reporting capabilities and operational workflows.

A strong business mindset, with the ability to identify growth opportunities,



improve profitability and contribute to strategic business decisions.

Demonstrated experience in business development, financial management, budgeting and practice performance monitoring.

An understanding of key general practice revenue drivers, billing structures, practitioner utilisation and operational efficiency.

Strong leadership capabilities with a genuine passion for mentoring, developing and supporting teams.

Sound knowledge of Medicare, general practice operations, accreditation and relevant healthcare regulations.

Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

The ability to work collaboratively with medical practitioners, nursing teams, administrative staff and practice directors.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to introduce recent ideas and drive continuous improvement.

Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to build trusted professional relationships.

A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a positive and supportive workplace culture.
