Tathra Beach Bowling Club, located on the NSW South Coast, offers a relaxed and welcoming club environment, with the Sandbar Bistro playing a key role in the Club’s hospitality offering.
The Club is now seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to take ownership of the kitchen and lead its next stage of growth. With plans to operate catering seven days a week over summer, this is a great opportunity to build your team, bring fresh ideas to the kitchen and make a genuine impact on the Club’s food offering.
The Role
As Head Chef, you’ll take the lead across the kitchen, ensuring the Bistro delivers quality, consistent meals while creating an efficient and well-run operation.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring and developing the kitchen team
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Menu development and seasonal offerings
- Rostering and building a reliable kitchen team
- Managing food costs, stock control and wastage
- Maintaining food safety and kitchen compliance
- Developing efficient kitchen systems and processes
- Preparing the kitchen for 7-day summer trading
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef who is confident taking ownership of a kitchen and enjoys leading from the front.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior kitchen leader
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- A passion for producing quality, approachable food
- Sound knowledge of food costs, labour and stock control
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to perform under pressure during busy services
- A hands-on and positive approach
- Fresh ideas and the drive to help grow the Club’s food offering
