Inspire young musicians. Bring people together. Shape the future of music at Kilbreda.
Director of Music (POL 3)
Do you believe in the power of music to inspire confidence, nurture creativity and bring a community together?
Kilbreda College is seeking a visionary and inspiring Director of Music to lead the next chapter of our vibrant music program. This is an opportunity for a passionate educator and musician to build on strong foundations, nurture the gifts of young people and create experiences that stay with them long after their school years.
Music at Kilbreda
Music is woven into the life of our College. From a student discovering an instrument for the first time to the shared achievement of an ensemble performance, we value the joy, discipline and connection that music brings.
Our extensive program includes chorales, ensembles, bands and an orchestra, complemented by an engaging classroom music program and our Year 7 Band and Orchestra program. Students share their gifts through recitals, College productions and community celebrations, the celebration of the Eucharist, and wider events such as the Victorian Schools Music Festival.
We are proud of what has been established and excited by the possibilities ahead.

As Director of Music, you will provide strategic and operational leadership of a program that encourages participation, celebrates achievement and inspires students to strive for excellence.
You will bring a clear vision for music education and a deep commitment to developing each student’s musical ability, confidence and creativity. You will understand the importance of both individual growth and the collective endeavour of making music together.
Working collaboratively with College leaders, classroom music teachers, instrumental tutors and education support staff, you will connect the many dimensions of the music program and support the people who bring it to life. You will lead with energy, compassion and high expectations, creating a culture in which students and staff feel valued and inspired to grow.
You will also contribute to the faith and community life of Kilbreda, enriching liturgies, the celebration of the Eucharist, productions and significant College events through music.
