Senior Director, Capital Partnering & Transactions

About our client

Our client is a leading land and property organisation with a substantial pipeline of residential and mixed-use projects, and a explicit purpose to increase the supply, affordability and diversity of housing.

The opportunity

This newly created role will lead how the organisation mobilises private and institutional capital, structures partnerships and recycles capital to fund future investment. Reporting to a member of the Executive team, you will set the strategy and commercial framework for the function and build the team that delivers it.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and lead the capital partnering strategy, establishing programmatic, long-term funding partnerships rather than one-off transactions
- Lead market engagement with domestic superannuation funds, listed developers, private capital managers and global institutional investors
- Originate, structure and negotiate joint ventures, co-investment, equity partnerships and develop-with-us models across greenfield land and built form, including build-to-rent and apartments




- Oversee end-to-end transactions and provide senior oversight of the divestment pipeline, in close partnership with the development team
- Lead financial modelling, investment evaluation and risk assessment, and advise the Executive and Board
- Ensure all transactions meet governance, probity and regulatory requirements
- Build and lead a high-performing team across investment, partnerships and transactions

About you

- Extensive senior experience in real estate funds management, capital partnering, capital markets or major transactions
- Established relationships with institutional investors and a track record of originating and structuring complex partnerships
- Strong financial modelling and commercial risk capability, with the credibility to advise an Executive and Board
- Experience leading and developing specialist commercial teams
- Experience in build-to-rent, residential, land development or urban renewal, or in government or regulated settings, is highly regarded
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or CFA are desirable
