We are an accounting firm located in the southern suburbs. Our amazing, friendly, and inclusive team has helped businesses with their accounting and financial needs for over 25 years. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a qualified, experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role would suit either a full-time or part time applicant; hours and days are negotiable.
Reporting directly to the Director, this role lets you apply your expertise across a broad range of accounting disciplines. You will work closely with our team of accountants and administrative professionals.
The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of all entity types of tax returns, adhering to relevant guidelines and regulations
Preparation and review of all entity types' end-of-year financial statements
Preparation and lodgment of BAS
Completion of detailed and accurate work papers
Assisting clients with bookkeeping queries, including payroll
Completion of accounts for SMSF's
Assisting clients with software queries
Liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients
Client appointments
Managing own workflow to meet KPI's, including budget and billable hours
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Accountant who meets the following criteria:
A minimum of 5 years of experience working within an accounting firm
Proven expertise in professional tax practice
Comfortable liaising directly with the ATO
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to build relationships and effectively communicate complex concepts
Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and BGL software
Bachelor's degree qualification in accounting or a related field required
CPA membership is highly desirable for this position
