About the role

As a Cook, you will work alongside our team to deliver quality food service for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

Undertaking food handling, meal preparation and cooking duties.

Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen, including equipment, appliances and utensils, in line with cleaning and infection control procedures.

Completing basic records, including meal numbers, missed meals and fridge and freezer temperatures.

Liaising with your supervisor and suppliers about ordering and stock control.

Supporting a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

About you

You enjoy preparing food and understand the care that goes into providing a consistent, quality meal service. You bring a practical approach, explicit communication and a willingness to work as part of a team.

You will have:

At least one year’s experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment

Knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, food hygiene and the safe use of kitchen cleaning chemicals

Knowledge and understanding of texture modified foods

Basic computer skills

Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

A commitment to safe work practices and quality service

Valid Australia work rights (sponsorship is not available for this position)

Appointment is subject to relevant screening requirements,



including a current National Police Certificate or the ability to obtain one. Applicants must also have Australian work rights.
