Position: Motor Mechanic

Annual Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

Job Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic for an immediate start on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week from Malaga, WA 6090.

The successful candidate will be required to perform a variety of tasks, including:

- Diagnosing faults in engines, drivelines and vehicle systems on light commercial vehicles using scan tools, computer diagnostic equipment and service data.
- Performing scheduled and logbook servicing and general vehicle maintenance, including oil, filter and fluid changes and inspections, to manufacturer specifications.
- Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and reassembling engines, turbochargers, fuel systems, transmissions, clutches, steering, suspension, brakes and cooling systems, replacing worn or defective parts.
- Carrying out engine rebuilds and turbocharger repairs, replacements and upgrades, and testing and adjusting components after repair for correct performance.
- Assisting with vehicle performance upgrades and tuning, including data logging, road testing, and verifying vehicle operation after modifications.
- Inspecting vehicles, identifying faults or safety issues,



conducting road tests to confirm repairs, and advising customers on work required.
- Completing job cards, repair and service documentation accurately, and communicating professionally with customers about repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean, secure and organised workshop, following workplace health and safety procedures, and working efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Skills and Experience Required:

For this position, it is expected that the candidate possesses the following qualifications and work experience:

- A Certificate III or IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with at least 1 year of full-time experience working in a Motor Mechanic role. This formal qualification can be substituted by at least 3 years of work experience in a Motor Mechanic role.

Attributes such as using automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment, a current driver's licence, good communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work practices will be highly regarded.
