- Lay multi-thickness walls and piers.
- Install flashing and damp-proof course.
- Construct masonry arches.
- Construct curved walls.
- Install fire-rated masonry construction.
- Construct fireplaces and chimneys.




- Construct masonry structural systems.
- Construct decorative brickwork.
- Construct battered masonry walls and piers.
- Carry out tuckpointing to brickwork.
- Install aerated autoclaved concrete products.
- Use explosive power tools.
- Work safely at heights.
- Carry out concreting to simple forms.
- Place and fix reinforcement materials.

To be considered for this role, your key skills must include:

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand construction specifications, and use tools and equipment effectively.
- Proficiency in laying bricks, blocks, and stones accurately and efficiently to construct walls and other structures.
- Ability to work precisely to ensure that bricks are laid in a straight line and at the correct level.
- Strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work on their feet for long periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination is essential for handling bricks and tools with precision.
- Basic math skills are needed for measuring and cutting materials and calculating angles and dimensions.
- Ability to identify and solve problems that may arise during the construction process.
- Work as part of a team to be able to collaborate effectively with other tradespeople.
- Understanding of safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working workplace.
- Ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines and manage time effectively.
