JSG Kitchens specialises in manufacturing high-quality custom kitchens and joinery, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail.
We are looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Factory Leading Hand to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys working on the tools while taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of factory production.
We're after someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can lead by example and is confident managing jobs from production through to completion.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position combining cabinet making, factory coordination and quality control.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manufacturing and assembling custom kitchens, cabinetry and detailed joinery.
- Producing curved cabinetry, custom components and specialised joinery.
- Operating CNC machines, edgebanders and other workshop machinery.
- Reading and interpreting architectural plans, shop drawings and specifications.
- Taking accurate onsite measurements for upcoming projects.
- Coordinating daily factory workflow and assisting with production scheduling.
- Ensuring all cabinetry is manufactured to a high standard and completed within required timeframes.
- Providing guidance and support to apprentices and other factory staff.
- Assisting with onsite installation when required.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and confident in their trade.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification in Cabinet Making or substantial hands-on experience (experienced senior apprentices also considered).
- Strong experience in factory-based cabinet making and custom joinery.
- Confidence operating CNC machines, edgebanders and general woodworking machinery.
- Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements and work independently.
- Experience with detailed cabinetry, curved work and custom finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to organise production, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to lead and support a small team.
- A positive attitude, solid work ethic and willingness to get involved wherever needed.
- Current driver's licence and White Card.
Previous experience in a factory leading hand or supervisory position will be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience and skill level.
- Stable, ongoing employment with consistent work.
- Opportunity to take on a leadership role while remaining hands-on.
- High-quality custom kitchen and joinery projects — not repetitive, volume-based flat-pack production.
- Supportive and experienced team environment.
- Opportunity to contribute to factory operations and production improvements.
- A workplace that values quality craftsmanship, initiative and teamwork.
