Disability Support Workers Wanted – Join Our Growing Queensland Team!
Are you a disability support worker who wants more than just another job?
What if you could work for an organisation that genuinely values YOU, supports your career goals and wants to help you build the hours you're looking for?
Welcome to Ava Care Support!
We're building something pretty special across Brisbane and surrounding Queensland communities, and we're looking for passionate, proactive and genuinely caring support workers to grow with us.
We're not just recruiting people to fill shifts.
We're building a team of good humans who want to make a real difference!
ABOUT AVA CARE SUPPORT
Ava Care Support is a growing disability support organisation providing personalised, person-led and neuroaffirming support across QLD and Sydney, with Support Coordination available Australia-wide.
Our approach is simple.
Your Life. Your Choices. Your Way.
We believe disability support should be about more than completing tasks.
It's about helping people:
- Build confidence and independence.
- Develop everyday living skills and capacity.
- Achieve goals that genuinely matter to them.
- Build friendships and meaningful connections.
- Explore their interests and discover new opportunities.
- Feel understood, respected and supported.
- Live the life THEY want to live.
We believe the right support worker can make an incredible difference in someone's life.
And we believe the right employer can make an incredible difference in a support worker's life too!
WE WANT TO SUPPORT YOUR GOALS TOO!
Let's face it. Working in disability support can sometimes feel like you're just another name on a roster.
That's NOT the culture we want to create at Ava Care Support.
We want our team members to feel valued, appreciated, supported and genuinely excited about coming to work.
Your experience matters.
Your ideas matter.
Your wellbeing matters.
And the amazing work you do deserves to be recognised!
Here's what we're working towards:
- Helping you build your hours: We want to understand how many hours you'd ideally like to work and explore opportunities to help you reach that goal as our participant base grows.
- Meaningful participant matching: We consider your personality, interests, strengths and experience when matching you with participants.
- A positive workplace culture: A team where people encourage one another, communicate openly and celebrate achievements.
- Feeling supported: We want you to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and reaching out when you need guidance.
- Skilled growth: Opportunities to develop your skills, confidence and experience.
- Being heard: Your feedback and ideas are important as we continue building our Queensland team.
- Work that means something: Supporting people to achieve real goals, build independence and create meaningful connections.
We're growing, so initial casual hours may vary. As new participants join Ava Care Support,
we'll work with our team to explore additional suitable shifts.
Hours will depend on participant needs, staff availability and compatibility, and cannot be guaranteed.
NEUROAFFIRMING SUPPORT – IT'S HOW WE DO THINGS!
We're particularly passionate about creating support that genuinely understands and respects neurodivergent people.
We're looking for support workers who understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to disability support.
For us, neuroaffirming support means:
- Respecting different communication styles and sensory needs.
- Understanding that everyone experiences the world differently.
- Supporting autonomy, dignity and personal choice.
- Recognising individual strengths, interests and abilities.
- Adapting our approach to suit the person, rather than expecting them to fit into a particular way of doing things.
- Creating environments where people feel comfortable being themselves.
- Working alongside participants to build capacity and achieve their own goals.
We want people who think outside the box, bring positive energy and genuinely enjoy helping others succeed.
Different support. Genuine connections. Real outcomes.
