Modern Dental Marrickville is looking for an experienced, friendly and reliable Dental Receptionist / Dental Nurse/Steri to join our established and supportive team.

This is a part-time position, with Mondays, Wednesdays,Fridays and Saturdays essential. There may also be an opportunity for additional days/hours when required.

We are looking for someone who already has experience working in a dental practice and is confident working both at reception and assisting our dentists.

Your Duties and Responsibilities Will Include:

Reception and Patient Care

- Welcoming patients in a warm, friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for.
- Answering incoming calls, responding to patient enquiries and providing accurate information regarding appointments and treatments.
- Managing appointment bookings, cancellations and rescheduling to ensure the efficient running of the practice.
- Processing patient payments, issuing receipts and handling general reception and administrative duties.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, updating patient information and ensuring all documentation is completed correctly.
- Liaising with dentists and other team members to ensure appointments run smoothly and patients receive excellent service.

Dental Nursing and Chairside Assisting

- Providing confident and efficient chairside assistance to dentists during a variety of dental procedures.
- Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials and equipment before each appointment.
- Assisting with general dentistry, including examinations, fillings, extractions, root canal treatments,



crowns and other dental procedures.
- Anticipating the dentist's requirements during treatment and ensuring instruments and materials are readily available.
- Supporting patients throughout their treatment, helping them feel comfortable and reassured.
- Cleaning, disinfecting and preparing treatment rooms between patients in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Ensuring dental equipment and instruments are maintained and ready for use.

Sterilisation and Infection Control

- Demonstrating sound knowledge and practical experience in dental instrument sterilisation and infection control procedures.
- Correctly cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, packaging and sterilising dental instruments and equipment.
- Confidently operating and maintaining autoclaves and other sterilisation equipment.
- Following correct sterilisation cycles, monitoring procedures, documentation and record-keeping requirements.
- Ensuring instruments are correctly stored and sterilisation areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe clinical environment at all times.
- Identifying and reporting any issues relating to sterilisation equipment or infection control procedures.

Essential Requirements





Applicants MUST have previous experience working as a dental nurse/Receptionist and be competent in dental sterilisation procedures. If No experience NO NEED TO APPLY.

- Can confidently work in the sterilisation room without requiring basic training.

- Is reliable, punctual, professional and a team player.
- Can multitask and remain calm in a busy dental practice.
- Is willing to assist in all areas of the practice when required.
