Experienced Female Disability Support Worker – Complex Care | Ocean Reef WA

Spearhead Supports is seeking a compassionate, reliable and highly experienced Disability Support Worker to provide individualised support to a female NDIS participant in Ocean Reef.

This role is suited to a support worker with demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex physical disabilities, high-intensity personal care needs and specialised support requirements.

We are looking for someone who is confident, clinically aware, attentive to detail and committed to delivering safe, person-centred care.

About the Role

The position initially offers approximately 5–7 hours per week, with the potential for additional shifts as the support arrangement develops.

The successful applicant will assist with:

- PEG feeding and enteral nutrition support in accordance with the participant's care plan.
- Medication assistance and administration within the worker's training, competency and authorised scope.
- Complex personal care, including showering, dressing, toileting and hygiene.
- Safe manual handling, transfers and hoist use where required.
- Mobility assistance and positioning.
- Supporting daily living activities and independence.
- Community access, appointments and transport as required.
- Monitoring wellbeing and recognising and escalating changes in the participant's condition.
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and following individual support plans.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex physical disabilities and high personal care needs.
- Experience and appropriate training in PEG feeding.
- Experience in safe manual handling, including hoisting and transfers.
- Medication competency and experience following medication management procedures.
- Robust understanding of infection prevention,



participant dignity and safe care practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed support instructions.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's licence and confidence driving participants.
- Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to consistent support.

Highly Regarded

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent.
- Experience working with participants with cerebral palsy or significant physical disabilities.
- High Intensity Support Skills training relevant to enteral feeding.
- Experience implementing complex care plans and working alongside allied health professionals.
