About the Company

Superior Construction Group Pty Ltd is a construction company specialising in formwork services for residential and commercial construction projects.

Our work includes the construction, erection, installation, stripping and removal of formwork systems for reinforced concrete structures, including suspended slabs, walls, columns, beams, stairs, lift shafts, ramps, pits and other structural components.

Due to ongoing and upcoming construction projects, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Formwork Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Position

The successful applicant will undertake skilled carpentry and formwork duties across the company's residential and commercial construction projects.

The position involves working closely with site supervisors, concreters and other construction trades to construct and install formwork accurately and safely in accordance with construction drawings, engineering specifications and project requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications;
- setting out formwork according to construction drawings, survey points and required dimensions;
- measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber, plywood and other formwork materials;
- constructing and erecting formwork for concrete slabs, beams, columns, walls, stairs, lift shafts, ramps and other structural elements;
- installing plywood and proprietary formwork systems;
- installing and securing props, braces, supports and associated formwork components;
- checking levels, dimensions, alignment and structural stability of formwork before concrete placement;




- installing formwork around penetrations, pits, hobs, plinths, openings and construction joints;
- assisting with the installation of timber bracing and associated structural components;
- attending concrete pours and checking formwork for movement, alignment or adjustment where required;
- stripping and dismantling formwork after concrete has sufficiently cured;
- cleaning, de-nailing and preparing formwork materials for reuse;
- completing formwork rectification and associated carpentry work;
- using hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely;
- maintaining a clean and protected work area;
- complying with SWMS, site safety procedures and workplace health and safety requirements; and
- performing other reasonable carpentry and formwork duties consistent with the position.

Skills and Experience

Applicants should have:

- relevant carpentry qualifications or equivalent trade skills and experience;
- demonstrated experience in formwork carpentry;
- experience constructing formwork for concrete slabs, walls, beams, columns, stairs and/or lift shafts;
- ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications;
- sound knowledge of timber, plywood and formwork construction methods;
- experience using carpentry hand and power tools;
- ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble and install formwork;
- understanding of construction site safety requirements;
- ability to work independently and as part of a construction team;
- good attention to detail and workmanship;
- reliable attendance and ability to meet construction deadlines; and
- a valid White Card.
