Kent Town Hotel is one of Adelaide’s premier pub and function destinations, with bars, a restaurant, a gaming room and a versatile range of function spaces.

We’re growing our leadership team and are looking for two experienced hospitality professionals to join us.

ROLE 1: FUNCTIONS & EVENTS MANAGER
Full-Time | $80,000 – $85,000 + super

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead the planning, sales and delivery of functions and events across the venue. You’ll be the client’s key contact from first enquiry through to event day, making sure every function, from a boardroom meeting to a 300-guest gala, runs seamlessly.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Managing the full events process, from enquiries, proposals and contracts to run sheets and on-the-day delivery
- Driving function sales and building a strong pipeline of weddings, corporate events, celebrations and private functions
- Building relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners and repeat customers
- Coordinating with the kitchen, bar and floor teams to deliver every event
- Managing budgets, minimum spends and event profitability
- Leading and supporting function staff on event days

What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience in a functions and events role, with venue-based experience strongly preferred
- Strong sales skills and the ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple events at once
- A confident communicator who builds rapport easily with clients, suppliers and the team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the events calendar requires

ROLE 2: DUTY MANAGER
Full-Time | $79,522 + super

About the Role
Reporting to the management team,



you’ll lead daily operations across our bars, restaurant, gaming room and function spaces. You’ll take ownership of your shifts, give the team clear direction, and make sure the venue runs efficiently and professionally.

The role is on a versatile, rotating roster, including opening and closing shifts, nights and weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Taking responsibility for each shift’s performance, including service standards, staff deployment, venue presentation and resolving issues
- Managing opening and closing procedures, including operational checks, cash reconciliation, security and handovers
- Leading and coaching the floor, bar and gaming teams
- Overseeing gaming operations, including service, cash handling, responsible gambling and patron care
- Coordinating with the kitchen and functions teams for organised, timely service
- Monitoring staffing against trade and adjusting during the shift
- Maintaining RSA, responsible gambling, liquor licensing and WHS standards

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role
- Gaming experience, including cash handling, compliance and patron care
- Current SA RSA, RP and RSG credentials (required)
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Sound judgement and confidence making decisions under pressure
- Availability for opening and closing shifts, nights and weekends
