Thai Kee Bros is an established Australian food and grocery business offering a diverse range of products sourced from domestic and international suppliers. We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and manage our procurement activities and support the ongoing operational and commercial requirements of the business.

About the Role

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the company's procurement function to ensure the timely, cost-effective and reliable sourcing of products. The role will oversee supplier selection and performance, commercial negotiations, procurement planning and purchasing controls, while working closely with management and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies and procedures aligned with the company's operational and commercial objectives.
- Manage the sourcing and procurement of grocery, fresh, frozen and other product categories from domestic and international suppliers, including producers and suppliers across Asian markets.
- Identify, evaluate and select domestic and international suppliers based on product quality, authenticity, pricing, supply capacity, lead times, reliability and commercial requirements.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, purchasing volumes, payment terms,



delivery arrangements and other commercial conditions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, service and delivery requirements.
- Analyse sales forecasts, inventory levels, product movement, seasonal requirements and anticipated demand across a diverse product portfolio to determine procurement requirements and purchasing priorities.
- Monitor procurement expenditure, product costs and market conditions and identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and achieve cost savings.
- Coordinate with management, sales, warehouse and inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock availability and minimise shortages, excess inventory and supply disruptions.
- Monitor international and domestic supply conditions and manage procurement risks relating to product availability, seasonal supply, lead times, pricing fluctuations and supplier performance.
- Review purchasing requirements and ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets and established purchasing controls.
- Prepare procurement reports and provide advice to management on sourcing strategies, supplier performance, procurement expenditure and supply risks.
- Lead, coordinate and monitor procurement and purchasing activities across the business,



including providing direction to employees involved in purchasing activities and monitoring procurement performance.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, business, management, commerce or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the food, grocery, wholesale, retail or FMCG sector.
- Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Sound commercial judgement with the ability to analyse pricing, purchasing trends, inventory requirements and supplier performance.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers will be highly regarded.
