BOILERMAKER (FULL-TIME)

Position Overview

Serene Mining and Maintenance Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Boilermaker to join our growing team. This role involves the fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed and mobile mining plant equipment across mining operations, crushing and screening plants, workshops, shutdown projects, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform skilled trade work to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mining equipment and facilities.

Working in both workshop and mine-site environments, the Boilermaker will contribute to planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, shutdown activities, and fabrication projects while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication sketches, work orders, equipment manuals, technical specifications, and job scopes.
- Fabricate, modify, install, and repair steel components and structures used in mining and materials-handling operations.
- Mark out, cut, shape, form, fit, and assemble steel plate, structural steel, and pipework.
- Perform welding, thermal cutting, gouging, grinding, and finishing activities.
- Install, inspect, maintain, dismantle, and repair mining plant equipment and associated structural components.
- Remove, replace, and refurbish wear components, including crusher liners, cheek plates, wear plates, chute liners, screen media, and conveyor components.
- Inspect plant and equipment to identify defects, wear, fatigue, corrosion,



and structural damage.
- Perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, shutdown activities, equipment adjustments, and testing.
- Use precision measuring equipment and alignment tools.
- Operate cranes, hoists, chain blocks, lifting equipment, and rigging gear within competency requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant Australian Engineering (Fabrication Trade) qualification or equivalent recognized Boilermaker trade qualification.
- Demonstrated experience as a Boilermaker in mining, crushing and screening, heavy industry, manufacturing, maintenance, or similar environments.
- Proven experience in fabrication, welding, cutting, structural repairs, and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficient with precision measuring, alignment, and inspection equipment.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Ability to travel and work at mine sites, workshops, and client locations as required.
- Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.

Skills & Attributes

- Strong fabrication, welding, and structural repair skills.
- Experience maintaining crushers, screens, conveyors, chutes, hoppers, and mining infrastructure.
- Ability to perform wear-liner replacements, shutdown maintenance,



and plant refurbishment work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in welding equipment, workshop machinery, hand and power tools.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.
- Strong communication, time-management, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Adaptable and reliable in workshop, site, shutdown, and remote environments.
- Robust organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional standards.
- Physical capability to safely perform manual handling, lifting, climbing, and confined-space duties where required.

Remuneration

- Competitive hourly rate of $76 per hour, plus applicable allowances and superannuation.
- Annual salary range of AUD $80,000 to AUD $150,000, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant industry experience.

Employment Conditions

This is a full-time position with Serene Mining and Maintenance Services. The role requires working ordinary hours in accordance with operational requirements and site rosters within a mining and maintenance environment.

Employment conditions, including hours of work, remuneration, leave entitlements, superannuation, and other benefits, will be provided in accordance with the applicable Modern Award, employment contract, company policies, and Australian workplace legislation.

Pay: $76.00 – $85.00 per hour
