Love hospitality but looking for a better work-life balance?
Full-time career | Generally no late nights | Rotating weekends | Complimentary golf
Ashgrove Golf Club is looking for an experienced, motivated and personable Bar & Hospitality Supervisor to join our team in a permanent full-time position.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, takes pride in delivering exceptional service and wants to develop their career in a welcoming, member-focused environment.
If you love hospitality but are looking to move away from the constant late nights and demanding weekend schedules of traditional bars, restaurants and pubs, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Why work at Ashgrove Golf Club?
We know that attracting great hospitality professionals means offering more than just a job.
What we offer:
- Permanent full-time employment – Stability and the opportunity to build a long-term career.
- Generally no late-night finishes – Enjoy a hospitality role with more sociable working hours.
- Rotating weekend roster – A fair approach to weekend work, providing opportunities to enjoy Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings off.
- Complimentary golf – A great benefit if you enjoy playing golf or would like to take up the game.
- Career development – The opportunity to grow your supervisory and leadership skills.
- A friendly, member-focused environment – Build genuine relationships with members, guests and colleagues.
- Variety and responsibility – Enjoy a combination of daily hospitality operations, member events, functions and golf days.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager,
you'll play a hands-on role in supervising our bar and hospitality operations while ensuring members and guests consistently receive outstanding service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and supporting bar and food and beverage staff during daily operations.
- Leading by example to deliver friendly, efficient and professional service.
- Assisting with staff training, development and maintaining service standards.
- Coordinating daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitoring stock levels, assisting with ordering and maintaining stock control.
- Supporting the successful delivery of member functions, golf days and special events.
- Ensuring responsible service of alcohol and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and workplace safety.
- Building positive relationships with members and responding professionally to feedback.
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to identify opportunities to improve service and operational efficiency.
About you
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and takes pride in creating a positive experience for both customers and colleagues.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Demonstrated experience in hospitality, preferably in a bar supervisor, food and beverage supervisor or similar role.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to lead,
motivate and support a team.
- Sound knowledge of bar operations, beverage service and stock control.
- A professional, approachable and hands-on management style.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence managing busy service periods and functions.
- A current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol and Gaming (RSA/RSG) certificate.
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evening functions.
Experience in a golf club, sporting club or member-based organisation would be highly regarded but is not essential.
An interest in golf would be a bonus, but a passion for great hospitality is what matters most.
Hospitality is a rewarding industry, but we recognise that long nights and constant weekend work can take their toll.
At Ashgrove Golf Club, we want to provide an environment where our employees can enjoy their work, develop professionally and maintain a healthy balance outside the workplace.
While weekend shifts and evening functions are part of the role, our aim is to provide a fair, rotating roster and generally more sociable hours than traditional late-night hospitality venues.
Ready for your next opportunity?
If you're an experienced hospitality professional looking for greater responsibility, long-term stability and an enjoyable working workplace, we'd love to hear from you.
