About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, confident and passionate Head Barista who can independently manage the coffee station during busy service periods. The ideal candidate must be capable of handling 6–8 kg of coffee per day, producing consistently high-quality coffee with excellent latte art, while maintaining a clean, organised and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently manage the coffee station during busy service periods.
* Confidently handle 6–8 kg of coffee per day while maintaining quality and consistency.
* Produce high-quality espresso-based beverages with excellent extraction and milk texturing.
* Demonstrate strong latte art skills and consistently present professional-looking coffees.
* Maintain consistency in coffee taste, temperature, presentation and overall quality.
* Dial in grinders, adjust espresso settings and troubleshoot coffee quality issues.
* Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic coffee station throughout service.
* Clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders and associated equipment.
* Manage workflow efficiently during peak periods while maintaining speed and accuracy.
* Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and work collaboratively with the team.
* Monitor coffee stock levels and advise management when supplies need replenishing.
* Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a high-volume barista or Head Barista.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Proven capacity to handle 6–8 kg of coffee per day.
* Strong latte art skills.
* Excellent espresso extraction and milk-texturing techniques.
* A high standard of cleanliness, organisation and attention to detail.
* Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
* Ability to remain calm, efficient and consistent under pressure.
* Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, understands the importance of consistency and can take full ownership of the coffee station. You must be able to deliver quality coffee at volume without compromising presentation, cleanliness or service standards.
We are looking for a skilled, independent and reliable barista who can lead by example and maintain a high standard of coffee service every day.
Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
