CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY - Mobile Rock-Climbing Wall Operator – Brisbane

Are you self-employed or working flexibly—and looking for an exciting way to earn additional income?

Base Zero is seeking a reliable relief contractor to operate our mobile rock-climbing walls at events throughout the Brisbane region when our regular contractors are unavailable.

We particularly need additional coverage during December and January, while one of our contractors takes a paternity break. Beyond this period, opportunities will arise throughout the year when our regular contractors take holidays or need occasional time away. Youl woudl also be next in line to be a primary contractor should you wish to if one of our primary contractors leaves.

This could be an excellent fit if your usual work becomes quieter over Christmas and January, you control your own schedule, or you’re looking for flexible work that helps you earn extra income for your family.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Base Zero brings mobile rock climbing to schools, holiday programs, sporting venues, festivals, markets, fetes, churches, community celebrations and corporate functions. We work with organisations and venues ranging from local community groups to major locations such as The Gabba and Suncorp Stadium.

As a relief contractor, you’ll:

- Tow the mobile climbing wall to booked events
- Complete setup and pack-down
- Operate the climbing wall safely and professionally
- Supervise and encourage participants of all ages
- Help create an exciting and memorable experience
- Accept the events that suit your availability

Bookings are generally held on weekends during school terms and weekdays during school holidays. You’ll know the payment offered before accepting each event.

WHO THIS WOULD SUIT

This opportunity may suit someone with any of the following types of experience:

- Driving, towing or transport
- Mechanical or technical work
- Outdoor education
- Sport, recreation, fitness or leisure




- Youth or support services
- Events or entertainment
- Running a small business or working for yourself

More important than your background is that you’re dependable, practical, safety-conscious, friendly and comfortable working independently.

REQUIREMENTS

You must:

- Own or have regular access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum 2.5-tonne towing capacity
- Hold an open driver licence and be a confident, competent driver
- Be at least 25 years old due to insurer requirements
- Be physically fit and able to complete equipment setup and pack-down
- Hold a Blue Card, First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain them
- Have some weekend and school-holiday availability
- Be particularly available during December 2026 and January 2027
