ABOUT SKY HSC COLLEGE
SKY HSC College is a tutoring college for Years 7–12 (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English) in Strathfield Plaza, directly opposite Strathfield station. We are a small, close team led by HSC specialists with 10 to 25 years of teaching experience. Around half of our families speak Korean at home and half English, so this role works in both languages every day.
A LONG-TERM ROLE, BUILT TO GROW
This role suits someone looking for a stable, long-term position (three years or more) where they can grow from front-desk coordination into enrolments, systems, marketing and day-to-day operations.
HOURS
This role looks after our front desk on Friday, 3:00–8:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm. You'll need to be available on both days, every week. Your days and hours are set on a fixed part-time roster, agreed with you in writing before you start. The days may change from 2027 as the college grows; any change is agreed with you in writing. More hours open up as the role grows.
A STEADY PRESENCE
Families rely on a familiar, dependable front desk, so we need someone who can be here consistently, week in, week out. Your Friday and Saturday shifts are fixed on your roster, and planned leave is arranged with us in advance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- First point of contact for students and parents – in person, by phone, SMS and KakaoTalk – in Korean and English
- Coordinate enquiries, consultations, trial lessons and admissions, with timely follow-up to families
- Manage class schedules and lesson changes in our student management (CRM) system; keep student records current in Monday.com
- Issue invoices and follow up payments (data entry and follow-up, not accounting)
- Keep teachers, students and parents informed: progress updates, schedule changes, college notices
- Produce short-form content for our social channels: Reels/Shorts, easy motion graphics, class and teacher promos
- Use AI tools every day to draft, translate,
summarise and automate routine admin – we build our systems around them
- Keep the front desk and classrooms presentable
YOU'LL BE A STRONG FIT IF YOU ARE
- Bilingual: professionally fluent in Korean and English – phone calls, messages, Korean typing and clear English emails
- Reliable: punctual, and comfortable taking responsibility for tasks through to completion
- Proactive and organised: you spot what needs doing and act on it
- AI-confident: you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or similar for real admin work
- Video-capable: you can make short-form video with CapCut, Canva or AI video tools – basic motion graphics is a strong plus
- Business-minded: interested in business, management, marketing or operations – in how a small education business runs, beyond front-desk service
- Available: every Friday, 3:00–8:00 pm, and every Saturday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm, on an ongoing basis
Preferred: 1+ year in reception, customer service or admin; experience with families and students; able to explain the NSW HSC system clearly to parents and students.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid Australian work rights for the advertised days and hours (verified before employment) and a Working With Children Check (current, or obtained before you start).
PAY & TRAINING
- Base rate: A$30–A$40 per hour. Pay details are discussed at interview and confirmed in writing before you start.
- Probation: a probation period of at least three weeks (six shifts) – we'll go through the details at interview.
- Training and equipment: training on our student management (CRM) system, Monday.com and our AI workflows is provided; equipment and software are supplied.
