About Soniq
Soniq Digital Media is an Australian commercial digital signage company. We supply commercial displays, LED walls, interactive panels, kiosks and Android media players, and we build Cybercast Pro, our own cloud signage platform. Our screens run in quick-service restaurants, hospitals, aged-care homes, retail stores, hospitality venues and schools.
The role
Every screen that leaves our Clayton warehouse should work perfectly, and every screen that comes back should be properly assessed. That is your job. You will split your time between the test bench, the warehouse floor and customer sites, where you will work alongside our field technicians. Most work is Monday to Friday, with occasional early starts or after-hours site work.
What you'll do
Before dispatch
- Unbox, power up and test displays, LED cabinets, interactive panels, kiosks and media players against our pre-dispatch checklist
- Check for panel damage, dead pixels, backlight and touch faults, and confirm inputs, audio and remotes work
- Load firmware and settings, set up media players, and confirm they connect to the network and Cybercast
- Record serial numbers, test results and photos against each order, then repack and label units for dispatch
Returns
- Inspect returned units on arrival, photograph their condition and test for faults
- Decide the outcome – back to stock, repair, supplier warranty claim or write-off – and record it
- Write clear fault reports that support warranty claims with our manufacturers
On site
- Join our technicians on installs, swaps and service calls around Melbourne, and occasionally regional Victoria
- Help mount, connect, configure and commission screens, and remove old equipment
- Follow site inductions and safety rules at hospitals, aged-care homes, schools and retail sites
In the warehouse
- Keep the test area, tools and spares organised
- Help receive stock and with stocktakes when needed
About you
You'll need:
- Hands-on experience testing, repairing or installing TVs, monitors, AV or IT hardware (around 1–2 years, or relevant TAFE study)
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, Ethernet) and confidence in Android device settings
- A careful, methodical approach – you record what you find
- The ability to lift and move large screens safely with a partner, and to work on ladders
- The right to work in Australia full time
Nice to have:
- Forklift licence (LF)
- White Card (construction induction)
- Elevating work platform (EWP) ticket or working-at-heights training
- ACMA cabling registration
