About this Role
Help shape quality from the very beginning—not just check it at the end.
We are seeking a Product Quality Specialist to join our global Product Quality team, working closely with engineering and product development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle.
From initial concept and design through verification, validation, production release and field performance, you'll play an important role in identifying risks early, strengthening quality practices and supporting the delivery of reliable,
high-performing smart energy solutions.
Reporting to the Head of Product Quality, you'll collaborate with hardware, software and firmware engineering teams across our global operations, providing specialist quality expertise, practical guidance and data-driven recommendations.
We're looking for someone who is technically curious, analytical and proactive—someone who sees quality as an enabler of better engineering outcomes rather than simply a compliance requirement. You'll be comfortable challenging assumptions, influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively to solve complex problems before they impact our customers.
In this role you will:
- Embed preventative quality practices: Support global engineering teams in applying quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, critical-to-quality analysis, risk assessments and design reviews throughout product development.
- Strengthen product release readiness: Participate in verification and validation reviews, quality gates and product readiness assessments, identifying risks and evidence gaps before products progress to the next stage.
- Identify and mitigate product risks: Work with engineering teams to assess technical and quality risks, recommend practical mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive structured problem-solving: Support or lead root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis, helping implement corrective actions and prevent recurring issues.
- Analyse quality performance and drive improvement: Monitor product quality indicators, defect trends, field performance and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate and influence globally: Partner with engineering, product management, operations and other stakeholders to strengthen quality capability, share lessons learned and promote consistent quality practices across EDMI.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Information Systems,
Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of product development and lifecycle processes, including requirements management, design reviews, verification and validation, release readiness and change control.
- Demonstrated experience in product quality, engineering quality, risk management or a related technical discipline, preferably within a hardware, software, firmware or complex technology product workplace.
- Experience applying structured problem-solving and risk management methodologies to identify root causes, manage quality issues and drive practical improvements.
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical information, identify risks and translate findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- A proactive, detail-oriented and pragmatic approach, with a focus on prevention, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams, along with familiarity with tools such as FMEA, 8D, quality gates and requirements traceability, will be highly regarded.
As a global organisation and within this global role, flexibility to occasionally collaborate across international time zones is also important.
