About Us
We’re Little Dreamers, Australia’s leading non-profit organisation working with Young Carers across the country.
A Young Carer is a young person aged 4 to 25 who provides or intends to provide care, support or assistance for a family member affected by disability, chronic or mental illness, substance use, or frail age.
Founded in 2009 by a Young Carer, we love building and delivering high quality programs that create deep and meaningful impact in the lives of young people providing care in their families. And we’re pretty good at it too.
To date, we have supported over 5,000 Young Carers, we deliver eight core programs alongside ad hoc supports, advocacy and community awareness campaigns. We have strong corporate partnership and funding relationships and have raised over $22 million to improve the quality of life for Young Carers around Australia.
We have even received recognition from Queen Elizabeth II and have been named as an internationally best practice organisation for Young Carer support.
Our team is made up of 50 incredible humans working across VIC, NSW, QLD. We are humble, hungry, kind and work hard to reach our goals. We believe in a world where every single Young Carer is supported by someone or something by 2030. Sounds fun right?!
By joining the Dream Team, you will play an integral part in supporting young people who often miss out on having a childhood.
About the role
The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead Little Dreamers’ digital marketing, social media and communications strategy, developing and implementing our overall Marketing and Communications Strategy and Action Plan. Reporting to the Chief Operations and Partnerships Officer (COPO), this role uses creative campaigns and digital engagement to drive two measurable outcomes:
audience growth and qualified referrals into our Young Carer programs.
Working with our national team, you will plan and deliver digital-first communication plans that broaden the reach and impact of the programs, brand and services of both Little Dreamers and the Young Carer Wellbeing Hub across VIC, QLD and NSW. You will manage our social media channels and content, grow awareness in the wider community and coordinate advocacy and awareness campaigns.
You will also oversee PR and media relationships, pitching stories with confidence and seizing opportunities to raise our profile and strengthen our advocacy. You will look after our brand guidelines and internal communications, and make sure the experiences of Young Carers are shared ethically and respectfully.
You will support fundraising through digital campaigns, content, PR and influencer engagement. Fundraising targets and revenue sit with the CEO and COPO. The COPO also leads all partnership relationships, including corporate proposals and sponsor activation, with Marketing supporting through assets and promotion.
You will guide the Marketing Coordinator while still taking on priority work yourself. This role calls for creativity, initiative and an ‘out-of-the-box’ attitude. You will have the autonomy to drive change and build strategies from the ground up, working within tight budgets and limited resources.
Lets talk about you
You will have a degree in marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with a proven track record in digital marketing and measurable campaign results, including growing online communities across social media. You are just as comfortable setting strategy and creative direction as you are rolling up your sleeves to deliver it, and you know how to keep a brand consistent across every channel. You are a robust writer and content creator, confident with short-form video, who can raise awareness, engage the right audiences and proofread with a sharp eye. You are skilled in Canva and/or Adobe InDesign, WordPress, email marketing platforms and social media content production. And you’ve got the analytical and project management chops to read performance data, juggle competing priorities and deliver events and initiatives on time.
Why you should work with us
At Little Dreamers, you’re not just joining a team, you’re becoming part of a passionate community dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Our team is driven by shared values, a strong sense of collaboration, and a commitment to creating a brighter future for Young Carers.
You will also have access to salary sacrifice packaging, an internal Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid carer’s leave and parental leave options.
We care about our team members just as much as we care about our Young Carers. We offer flexible working arrangements and organise team bonding activities to ensure a sense of connection and support.
What is the salary
This position is classified as Level 5, part time employee (30.4 hours per week) under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
