The Role

This is a key hire. Our director is a technical tax specialist with a strong track record of winning work—what we need now is someone to run the engine room. As Supervisor/Manager in our Business Services & Tax division, you’ll own the day-to-day running of the practice: workflow, deadlines, the team and the numbers. You’ll keep jobs moving, people on track and clients happy, freeing our director to get out and grow the firm. You don’t need to be the most technical person in the room—we’ve got that covered. You need to be the most organised.

What you’ll be doing:

· Run the back office: workflow, scheduling, job allocation and lodgement deadlines

· Lead, manage and develop the accounting team—day-to-day supervision, reviews and performance

· Drive the turnover of client work through the office, keeping jobs moving and WIP under control





· Monitor and report on team and practice performance: budgets, recoveries, billing and debtors

· Be a key point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and jobs on time

· Build and improve systems, processes and practice-management tools as we scale

· Work closely with the director on technical matters and new client onboarding

· Get involved in business development as we grow the client base

What You Bring

You’re the person who gets things done. You love a well-run office, a clear job list and a team that knows what it’s doing. You’re comfortable with tax and accounting compliance, but your real strengths are organisation, people and process. You want to help build something—not be just another layer in a big firm.

Requirements:

· Solid experience in Australian public practice (business services & tax)

· Proven experience managing workflow and supervising staff

· Highly organised, with a track record of hitting deadlines and keeping work moving

· Confident managing people, performance and client expectations

· Commercially minded—comfortable with budgets, WIP, billing and recoveries

· CA/CPA qualified or working towards (desirable)

· Strong Xero, Excel and practice management software skills
