Working at Clarence Valley Council
Our goal is simple. We want Clarence Valley to be a community full of opportunity. We know that starts with our people.

Located in the heart of the Northern Rivers, the Clarence Valley is a special place to call home. With over 100km of stunning beaches, national parks and 60 unique towns and villages to enjoy, we’ve got a massive backyard to look after.

As one of the region’s largest employers, we provide the job security and career opportunities of a large organisation, with the warmth and connection of a local team.

We’re currently working on some big plans to make the Valley even better by 2036, and we need people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and be a part of something truly important.

Your opportunity
More Than a Job. A Mechanical Career That Supports Your Lifestyle, Family and Future.

At Clarence Valley Council, we recognise that a rewarding mechanical career is about more than the work you do each day. It's about having the time to enjoy life outside of work, being present for your family, working on a diverse range of up-to-date and heavy fleet assets, and building a secure future with an organisation that values its people.

As a member of our mechanical team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles, plant and equipment that directly support essential community services. From graders, excavators, rollers and loaders through to heavy trucks, utilities and specialised fleet assets, every day presents a variety of challenges and opportunities to apply and grow your skills. The work is meaningful, rewarding, and has a direct impact on the roads, infrastructure and services relied upon by our community.

Employees also benefit from working in a modern, purpose-built workshop facility, designed to provide a safe, efficient and professional working environment. Our newer workshop offers improved equipment, enhanced workspaces, modern tooling and lifting equipment, dedicated fabrication and servicing areas,

and the resources needed to support high-quality maintenance practices. We are committed to continually investing in our facilities, fleet, equipment and people to ensure our workforce has the tools and environment needed to perform at their best.

If you're a qualified Heavy Vehicle, Plant or Diesel Mechanic looking for a career that offers stability, flexibility, modern facilities, meaningful work and a lifestyle that allows you to enjoy more time with family and the Clarence Valley community, we'd love to hear from you.

• Trade Certificate (Mobile Plant and/or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic) or equivalent trade qualification
