CRG has been engaged by the Shire of East Pilbara to recruit a highly capable Assistant Finance Manager to provide leadership and continuity while the current incumbent is seconded to another division.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the Manager Financial Services and Director Corporate Services during a significant ERP digital transformation. You will oversee the Shire's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficient service delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor Coordinators and Finance Officers across creditors, debtors and related functions
Ensure compliance with the Local Government Act 1995, associated regulations and Australian Accounting Standards
Oversee monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, and period-end close processes
Support budgeting, annual financial statements, audit processes and grant acquittals
Contribute to the design and implementation of a recent chart of accounts and finance system as part of the ERP project
Provide high-quality advice and support to executive and Council as required
Essential Skills, and Experience.
Proven experience in financial management, ideally within local government or a similar regulated environment
Strong people leadership and mentoring skills
Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
Clear, qualified communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Comfortable leading through change and system implementation
High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
Relocation to the Pilbara is required
