We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Excavator Operator for a long-term civil project at Underwood.
This is not bulk earthworks or GPS work. It’s tight, technical excavation where you need to be productive while constantly aware of what's happening around you.
The project has multiple excavators, , and we need someone comfortable moving between machines and different tasks as the job requires.
The work includes:
Trenching alongside an existing road
Excavating in extremely tight working areas
Loading spoil directly into trucks
Working around existing services and overhead powerlines
Assisting the pipe crew to get pipes laid correctly
Moving shoring regularly as the trench progresses
Excavation and preparation around pits
Working alongside cranes installing pits and pipe
Occasional loading of materials at the local yard
There is no GPS setup, so we're looking for someone who genuinely knows their machine and can work accurately and efficiently without relying on GPS.
You need to be able to read the job in front of you, communicate with the pipe crew and keep production moving without compromising safety.
What we're looking for:
Robust civil excavator experience
Excellent trenching experience
Confident on 30T+ excavators
Experience working in confined/tight civil sites
Comfortable working around shoring, pipe crews, trucks, cranes and services
Versatile enough to jump between machines and tasks
Productive operator who doesn't sacrifice safety for speed
Relevant Excavator ticket and White Card
Have a referee we can call to confirm your ablity
There is plenty happening in a very small footprint, so valuable spatial awareness and machine control are essential.
If you're an experienced civil operator who enjoys the more technical side of excavation rather than simply shifting dirt all day, we'd like to hear from you.
