Barista – Tru Coffee, Balwyn

We’re looking for a passionate, skilled and reliable barista who takes pride in making excellent coffee and creating a great experience for every customer at Tru Coffee.

Key responsibilities:
Prepare high-quality espresso coffees for dine-in and takeaway customers, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation and quality.
Confidently operate and maintain the espresso machine and coffee grinder, including adjusting the grind and extracting quality espresso shots.
Work efficiently under pressure during busy morning rushes while maintaining coffee quality and speed of service.
Manage multiple coffee orders accurately and prioritise orders in coordination with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
Provide friendly, welcoming and attentive customer service, ensuring every guest feels valued.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic coffee station throughout the shift.
Follow food safety procedures and workplace standards.




Work collaboratively with the team to keep service running smoothly and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere at Tru Coffee.

What we’re looking for:
Previous barista experience and confidence in a busy café environment.
Strong espresso-making skills and an understanding of coffee extraction, milk texturing and temperature.
Excellent attention to detail, consistency and a genuine passion for coffee.
A positive attitude, reliability, punctuality and a solid work ethic.
The ability to stay calm, organised and qualified during busy periods.
Good communication skills and a team-first mindset.

We’re looking for someone who understands that outstanding coffee is not just about the cup — it’s about consistency, hospitality and making our locals want to come back.

Pay: $26.44 – $42.49 per hour
