Develop a sound knowledge of irrigation systems, equipment and components.
Assist with the installation of irrigation systems in accordance with plans, specifications & workplace requirements.
Identify and use irrigation pipes, fittings, valves, sprinklers, pumps and other system components.
Measure, cut, join and assemble irrigation pipes and fittings under supervision.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of pumps, filtration equipment and irrigation control systems.
Assist with inspecting, testing and commissioning irrigation systems.
Identify faults, leaks, blockages and other issues and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.




Learn to read and interpret basic irrigation plans, layouts, diagrams and specifications.
Assist with checking water flow, pressure and distribution to support productive system operation.
Develop an understanding of irrigation scheduling, water management and water conservation practices.
Select, use and maintain tools, equipment and materials appropriate to irrigation work.
Follow procedures for handling, storing and transporting materials and equipment.
Maintain a clean, organised and secure work area.
Communicate with team members, supervisors, customers and other relevant stakeholders as required.
