Sports Trader — Take or Make Melbourne (South Yarra) | Casual | $70-$90 per hour plus super About Take or Make Take or Make is a global market maker in sports markets, with our largest office in Melbourne. We trade our own capital on betting exchanges and prediction markets. We're a small team, which means the person in this seat matters to the results in a way that isn't true at a big shop.

About the role
There's no big overround to hide behind here. Our edge is speed, and the trades you make have a direct and visible impact on the profitability of the game you're trading. The desk trades American football and basketball, with coverage of a few other sports through our market making.

What you'll do
• Trade live games (moneylines, spreads, totals).
• Reprice game states as they happen, in the moments before the rest of the market catches up
• Help us meet our market making obligations, including quote uptime and spread requirements
• Be able to justify every trade. We review trades on the price you got relative to where the market settled shortly after, not on whether they won.
• Feed ideas back into our automated pricing and quoting systems What we're looking for

• Preferably a winning sports bettor yourself
• Very quick with numbers, comfortable thinking in prices and probabilities
• You watch and understand American football and/or basketball
• Comfortable making quick decisions with incomplete information, and comfortable doing nothing when there's no edge
• Level headed, rational decision makers
• Available for US game windows, which means 4am to 5am Melbourne starts through the football season. Being upfront: this is the hard part of the job
• Most games fall on weekends, so weekend shifts are part of the role, with a day off during the week in lieu

What we offer
• A competitive hourly rate, above relevant award rates.
• You trade with our capital, feed, tech and limits, and you'll learn to trade professionally sitting next to the people who built the systems
• Based in our South Yarra office. Game windows are worked in the office, especially while you're learning We hire on ability — anyone who can price a game rapid is welcome here, whatever their background.
