We are currently recruiting our first HR Generalist to lead the people function across New Growth Care and our Gold Coast partner, Thryv.
The role can be based at our Head Office in Bentleigh East (Melbourne) or in Broadbeach (Gold Coast).
About the Opportunity
Full-time, ongoing | Bentleigh East (VIC) or Broadbeach (QLD)
You will own our People and Culture function, across both businesses
A fast-growing team across Victoria and Queensland, and the chance to build the people function that keeps pace with it
SIL homes, community teams and Support Coordination
Oversee and support a small number of roles, with room to grow the team

Finding and Keeping Good People
Own recruitment end to end: writing the ad, screening, group interviews, references, offers
Set the tone and culture expectations from day 1, so recent starters arrive knowing who we are and ready to work
Identify opportunities for good people to keep growing, learning and excelling with us
Own why people stay, and be honest with us about why they leave
This suits someone who has watched good people walk out the door for reasons that were fixable.
Performance and Development
Run the performance and supervision cycle, and keep it actually running
Coach our managers through the conversations they are avoiding
Own our learning platform, allocate what people need, and track whether they finished it
Tell the management team where we are thin before it becomes a problem
Perfect for someone who thinks performance management is a monthly habit,



not an annual event.
Award, Pay and the Fine Print
Work with our Finance team and other team members to make sure the relevant awards are being applied correctly, and be the escalation point for award and pay queries
Get pay classification right at engagement and at every role change
Handle employee relations day to day, with an external adviser on hand for the hard ones
This is ideal for someone who can give a manager a straight answer on an award question and stand behind it.
Systems, Automation and Better Process
Own Employment Hero as our system of record, including the parts nobody has configured yet
Find efficiencies through automation and better processes where they will make a real difference
Work collaboratively with our Head of Compliance to build and improve our processes
Build one set of people standards that works nationally and meets state requirements in Victoria and Queensland
Give the leadership team a workforce report they can make a decision from

Our Clients
Work alongside our service team when clients and families raise a question, and help see it through to an answer
Record and manage feedback and complaints properly, so we learn from them rather than survive them
Support our clients through intake alongside the team delivering the service
What We're Looking For




Generalist HR experience across recruitment, employee relations, performance and employee records in the one role
Award interpretation in a shift-based workforce, SCHADS preferred
Someone who builds and configures an HR platform rather than only administering one
A track record of designing a people process, rolling it out, and confirming it was adopted
Experience running a performance and supervision cycle to schedule
Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and the National Employment Standards, including casual and part-time obligations
Able to turn workforce data into something a leadership team can act on
Good judgement on what to escal ... and what to just decide
Disability, aged care or health experience, Employment Hero and Salesforce all highly regarded
Relevant tertiary qualification in human resources or business, or equivalent senior generalist experience
NDIS Worker Screening Check and WWCC (or willing to obtain)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to complete)
