Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The role will require you to:
Operate heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production targets and maximise equipment utilisation.
Maintain competency across multiple machinery types and perform operating duties in line with site requirements.
Identify, report and assist in controlling workplace hazards to support a protected working environment.
Adhere to all safety procedures, risk assessments, safe work practices and statutory requirements.
Perform regular plant and equipment inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements in a timely manner.
Take ownership of plant and equipment care, ensuring machinery is operated responsibly and damage is minimised.
Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas, including operational, crib and access areas,
and dispose of waste in accordance with site environmental requirements.
Contribute positively to a team environment by supporting, mentoring and assisting fellow team members where required.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and training initiatives to continuously improve site performance.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of Dozers, Watercarts, Graders & Haul Trucks within a mining or heavy industry environment
Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal MiningSafety & Health Act and associated regulations.
Sound communication skills within a mining environment
Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to a company culture
Applicable Coal Competencies - signed by SSE/Delegate
Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
Maintain and possess a current Queensland Driver's licence
