Outdoor Leadership Traineeship – Cave Hill CreekWestvic Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Cave Hill Creek, Raglan (outside of Beaufort), have an opportunity available to join the team as an Outdoor Leadership Trainee completing Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership with Box Hill Institute.This unique prospect allows you to earn while you learn, working alongside a dedicated team to support school camps and deliver specialised outdoor activities such as canoeing, abseiling, mountain biking, and more.
Cave Hill Creek have a sister company, Silverband Lodge in Halls Gap.
There will be opportunities for you to work at this camp also.General Tasks Include:Outdoor activity instruction to groups (predominantly school children)Assist qualified activity instructors with specialized activities incl abseiling, water (canoeing, raft building, recreational swimming), high rope (giants' ladder, crate stack, possum glider) and bike ridingOnce familiar and confident, lead nonspecialized activities such as map reading, low ropes, bouldering, archery, bush cooking short walks etc.Assist the group leader on overnight camp outs,



journey-based programs and guided walks.Mentor on holiday campsAssist delivering activity programs for school and holiday camps.Provide organization and logistic support for overnight camp outs, journey-based programs and guided walks.Assist with regular inspection and maintenance of outdoor activities and associated equipmentEnsure campers and guests experience a memorable and enjoyable stay at Cave Hill Creek or Silverband Lodge.Assist with other daily camp and business operations as required incl maintenance, housekeeping, gardening, venue set up, catering and functions/eventsThe successful applicant will:Have a passion for working with and mentoring childrenPassion with working outdoors and doing outdoor activitiesBe physically fitHave the confidence to address large groupsPass a police check and willing to obtain Working with Children's CheckHave a driver's licenceWhat you'll get:Paid work + a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Outdoor LeadershipOngoing mentoring and supportReal skills for a long-term careerEmployer QuestionsDo you have full Australian working rights?
