We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Leading Hand – Commercial Roofing to join the team at IRT Roofing.
This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba, QLD, offering an excellent chance to take on a leadership role within our commercial roofing division.
As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing roofing projects, managing teams on-site, and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
This role is pivotal to our operational success and directly impacts the quality of service we deliver to our clients.Key responsibilitiesSupervise and manage roofing teams on commercial projects, ensuring all work is completed to specification and within agreed timelinesCoordinate daily site activities, including task allocation, material management, and progress monitoringConduct toolbox talks and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety protocols and company policiesInspect workmanship standards and address any deficiencies or quality issues immediatelyLiaise with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution and communicationMaintain accurate site records, including timesheets, daily reports, and project documentationIdentify training needs within the team and mentor junior staff to develop their skills and capabilitiesOperate and maintain roofing equipment safely and ensure all tools are properly stored and maintainedContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on project processes and proceduresWhat we're looking forMinimum 5+ years' experience in commercial roofing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leading hand capacityComprehensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation techniquesStrong understanding of health and safety regulations, including Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation applicable to constructionCurrent or ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certificationDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project plansProven leadership skills with the ability to motivate,
