Our client, a leader in the Cold Temperature controlled warehousing and distribution sector are currently on the search for a reliable and experienced Trades Assistant to join their warehouse facility maintenance team based in Prestons.In this hands-on role, you will assist with general maintenance, repairs, and support tasks across our warehouse operations.
You'll work closely with skilled tradespeople and maintenance supervisors to ensure the facility is protected, clean, and operating efficiently.Position BriefFlexible Start time 6AM or 7AMMonday to Friday working week38 hours plus overtime where requiredTemp - Permanent OpportunityPay Rate:



$38 - $40 per hour pending experienceWell established and growing businessKey Responsibilities:Welding and repairs of steel cagesRepairs on dock roller doorsPainting and upkeep of facility safety walkwaysAssist with repair and replacement racking beamsAssist in general building and facility maintenance tasksSupport tradespeople with repairs and preventative maintenanceConduct basic repairs, cleaning, and equipment upkeepMove tools, materials, and equipment as neededMaintain cleanliness and safety in all work areasReport hazards, damage, or maintenance issues promptlyPerform other duties as directed by the maintenance team leaderRequirements:Previous experience in a maintenance or trades assistant role a MUSTCurrent Forklift LicenceCurrent EWP licence ( Highly Desirable but not essential)Welding experience Highly desirable ( MIG / STICK)Mechanically mindedBasic knowledge of hand and power toolsPhysically fit and able to perform manual tasksStrong work ethic and a proactive attitudeGood communication and teamwork skillsAbility to follow instructions and work safelyCurrent driver's license and reliable transport (preferred)Must have full work rights
