Job DescriptionAs a Corporate Counsel at TAL, you'll provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a broad mix of regulatory, product and commercial matters.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll help shape confident decisions, navigate regulatory change and support initiatives that impact millions of Australians.
This is a broad inhouse legal prospect where you'll work across commercial, regulatory and product matters, partnering closely with the business on issues that directly influence TAL's customers and strategic priorities.In this role you will:Provide practical legal advice across commercial, regulatory and product mattersPartner with stakeholders on the development and distribution of life insurance productsDraft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreementsAdvise on regulatory change, customer communications,



marketing and consumer protection mattersSupport corporate legal matters including contracts and intellectual propertyHelp the business understand emerging legal and regulatory risksContribute to broader industry reform and advocacy across life insurance and superannuationQualificationsAn Australian practising qualification and at least 3 to 5 years' PQE providing legal advice within financial services, insurance, superannuation, wealth or another highly regulated environmentExposure to life insurance regulation and consumer protection frameworks is highly regarded, but not essentialStrong commercial contracting, negotiation and drafting capabilitySound commercial judgement and the ability to balance legal risk with practical business outcomesConfidence partnering with stakeholders and translating complex legal issues into clear, practical adviceCuriosity and a genuine interest in emerging regulatory and industry developments
