About the role

As a Room Attendant you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms. You will ensure that all rooms are inviting and clean and address any guest queries politely and knowledgeably. Your attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service will help create a welcoming environment for our guests. What you will do:

- Cleaning/preparation of guest rooms to the level of the Inter Continental Brand Standards. This may include changing bed linens, making beds, replacing towels and bathroom amenities, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting and polishing floors and furniture, emptying trash and ashtrays, transporting dirty linen to pantries and restocking of minibar amenities in guest rooms
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and in good working order. Report maintenance issues immediately
- Be mindful of guest privacy, ensure noises/disturbances are kept to a minimum. Greet guest enquiries in a caring and courteous manner,



and ensure complaints/issues are reported to the housekeeping leadership team
- Ensure all rooms and storage areas are kept clean and tidy and left secure
- Other general duties as outlined by the housekeeping leadership team

About you

- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude - guests come first
- Strong problem-solving skills to turn challenges/issues into opportunities
- Literate and tech-savvy (solid grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computers)
- Flexibility with availability as nights, weekends and holidays are all part of the job
- Ability to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This may involve bending, kneeling, standing, and reaching for extended periods
- Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be outstanding, but not essential

Intended commencement date for this position would be the 07 December 2026 or 04 January 2027, with the role being located on Hayman Island, Queensland.

Appropriate Australian working rights are required for this role.





- The base hourly rate for this position is $27.48 under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement, working a minimum of 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster with shifts spanning from early in the morning until later at night.

No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to learn and acquire additional skills during their employment.
