We're looking for a genuinely hands-on Senior Azure Integration Engineer to join a growing enterprise integration capability within a large Australian organisation.
This is not an architecture-only role and it's not a position where you'll simply oversee delivery.
You'll be designing, building, deploying and supporting integrations yourself, working across a modern Azure Integration Services environment and helping shape the standards and patterns the wider team uses.
The environment
The organisation is in the middle of a significant transformation program and is continuing to build out its enterprise integration platform across a complex mix of cloud and on-premise systems.
The core stack includes:
- Azure Logic Apps
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure API Management
- C# / .NET
- Azure DevOps
- Bicep / Infrastructure as Code
- Application Insights / Log Analytics
The focus is on building integrations that are scalable, resilient, observable and supportable in production.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with the Integration Lead and wider Platform Engineering team to:
- Design and build enterprise integrations using Azure Integration Services
- Develop solutions across Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus and API Management
- Build event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns
- Design secure APIs and messaging solutions
- Implement appropriate retry, dead-lettering and idempotency patterns
- Improve end-to-end observability, logging and transaction tracing
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps
- Work with infrastructure-as-code and repeatable deployment practices
- Support production integrations and troubleshoot complex incidents
- Work across cloud, SaaS and on-premise systems
- Contribute to integration standards,
reusable patterns and engineering practices
- Work within an enterprise environment with controlled releases, private networking and change processes
What we're looking for
The biggest requirement is recent, hands-on Azure Integration Services experience.
We'd like to see strong practical experience across:
- Azure Logic Apps
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure API Management
You should be able to talk clearly about integrations you personally designed and built, including the decisions you made and how the solution behaved in production.
We're particularly interested in engineers who understand concepts such as:
- queues vs topics / publish-subscribe
- asynchronous messaging
- retries and dead-letter queues
- idempotency
- API security and authentication
- correlation IDs and distributed tracing
- production monitoring and support
- CI/CD and deployment controls
Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and Bicep would be highly regarded.
Exposure to private networking, managed identities, Key Vault and enterprise deployment/change processes would also be valuable.
Nice to have
Experience integrating with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations would be a bonus, but it is not essential.
What matters more is that you are a strong Azure integration engineer who is still comfortable getting into the detail and building.
The opportunity
You'll be joining a relatively current integration capability at an interesting point in its growth.
There is a lot of work ahead across the new platform, and the team is looking for engineers who want to take ownership, challenge designs where appropriate and help build something that can become the long-term enterprise standard.
If Azure Integration Services is genuinely your area of expertise and you still enjoy being hands-on, I'd love to hear from you.
